How modern food systems force our cells to work against us - and what we can do about it.
In telling the story of how today's industrialised food systems - from farm to fork - undermine our health at a cellular level, Hard Cell provides an escape route back to health. It empowers the reader to make informed choices about what is best for them individually, and for the world as a whole.
Hard Cell throws wide the shutters, and allows fresh air and sunlight into the murky corners of the food-marketing world. It is a book that will help people understand how the food choices they make are manipulated for the benefit of large corporations, why this impacts our health so negatively and how we can re-ignite the super-power that is our choice to re-connect with a more natural way of being and, in so doing, create a healthier and happier world.
Since the 1950s we have been subjected to a barrage of hard sell techniques when it comes to food. This means we hold convenience, entertainment and taste at a premium - at the expense of variety, nutrition and health. This normalisation of unhealthy food choices has led to the dramatic rise in non-communicable disease over the last 50 years.
Eight out of ten of the biggest killers on the planet are related to the food we eat. This is because modern foods contain ingredients that cause our cell walls to harden. Hard cell membranes prevent both the absorption of nutrients and the release of toxins. We become under-nourised and over toxic, leading to fatigue, hormonal imbalances and chronic disease.
We are a part of nature and, like all natural beings, have inner guidance systems. In our case these systems regulate appetite and balance hormones. Modern life, and the addictive, hard sell food marketing system imposed since the 1970's, de-natures these systems. Discover how easy it is to connect back in and access the true health and wellbeing that is our birthright.
Formally a C-Suite Executive advising some of the world's largest food manufacturing corporations, Fran faced down her own health crisis, and had to re-think her whole approach to food and it's impact on our wellbeing. This led to a new career as a Functional Health Practitioner in which she has helped hundreds of people prevent or reverse chronic lifestyle disease. As poacher turned gamekeeper she is in a unique position to shine a light on why and how the food industry offers up false choices, the negative impact this has on our health, and exactly what we can do about it.
